Small gas boiler room as a dual and backup heat source of a residential building
Opportunity for smaller communities of owners of residential units (up to 30 residential units)
- small private heat source as a healthy competition to the urban system central heat source
- possibility to smartly and economically combine both heat sources in a SUMMER-WINTER fashion
- possibility to switch to currently “CHEAPER HEAT”
- possibility to deploy gas source at any moment (in summer or during central heat source downtimes)
- very low investment costs – investment return within 5 years
- possibility to finance the mini boiler room from savings

- For a mini boiler room, a building permit is not necessary, a notification of gas appliance installation suffices.
- For outputs up to 200 kW, approval of the air preservation authorities is not necessary.
- For heat volumes up to 700 GJ/year, an opinion from the State Energy Inspection is not necessary.
Preconditions:
- It is necessary to issue or update the Energy Performance Certificate for the building.
- It is necessary to reserve a non-residential area of cca 10 m2 close to the heat exchanger station or on the roof (with the approval of the community of owners of the residential units).
